New battery law as from 01.01.2021 (BattG2)

Battery registration with EAR Institute (ear)

From the upcoming year 2021, the legislation in Germany is aiming as well to reorganize the battery registration in addition to the increase of the recycling rates for portable batteries already planned by the new law as for 01.01.2021.

In the future, the ear Institute (EAR), which already manages the registration of electrical devices and their collection coordination, will also take over the management of battery registrations in accordance with the new German Battery Act.

The near Institute (EAR) will take over the administrational part for registrations from the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) from 01.01.2021, in which battery manufacturers and / or importers / distributors previously had to register free of charge.

As soon as a manufacturer has already reported the placing of batteries on the market to the Federal Environment Agency in accordance with the previous legal requirements, he must be re-registered at ear Institute by 01.01.2022 at the latest.
(Please also note the preliminary information officially provided by ear Institute under the following link: https://www.stiftung-ear.de/en/topics/battg-e/pre-information-battg)

As part of our battery service, Landbell offers you the free and uncomplicated transfer of your registration. In addition to our usual administration fees, there are no additional costs for changing / transferring your registration (any statutory fees incurred by ear Institute are not included in this offer.)
Feel free to ask about our offer without any obligation.

Important NOTE:
Many manufacturers and / or distributors of electrical devices are also affected by the registration requirement for batteries, as batteries that are included in devices or in the scope of delivery must also be registered.
We therefore recommend not solely pure battery manufacturers, but also all distributors, importers and manufacturers of electrical appliances, to check your product catalog and to register batteries and rechargeable batteries that have been supplied but not yet properly registered as quickly as possible.
